Gru airport

Design That Guides the Journey

At GRU Airport, the busiest airport in South America, there is an entire city operating behind the scenes. More than 30,000 employees move through the airport every day to keep a terminal serving 35 million passengers annually running smoothly. It was in this context that Keenwork took on the challenge of developing a new back-office signage system, while also creating a standardized process for the use of airline and third-party branding.

The project needed to go beyond simple orientation. We developed an efficient wayfinding system that contributed to the revitalization of the environment and supported the airport’s modernization efforts. The signage design was inspired by the wing of an aircraft and the shape of a boarding pass, with angled cuts that convey movement and technology.

Bringing together our strategy, architecture, design, and production teams, we created a solution that balanced functionality and aesthetics while reinforcing GRU Airport’s new phase. The result was a modern, flexible, and intelligent system featuring more than 100 identification formats, capable of adapting to the airport’s ongoing transformations and keeping pace with the busiest gateway in Brazil.
